I ran this by Tillman and these fixes to what we already have are approved. We're done working on story now.

In the beginning scene when Tia is a child, we will include hints of Terrible’s presence. Not necessarily as an evil element, but as a dishonorable one. He’s not well liked and most people want him out of the wrestling scene. After the time skip Terrible’s done something or other that’s truly awful and Tia’s father feels he has to take him out. 

Terrible is too cowardly to ever take him on though, and so Tia’s father offers a challenge. If terrible loses he has to get out of their town and leave wrestling and he puts up his mask and his belt. Terrible shows up with his team and through his pride her father still takes on the fight. 

Tia’s father loses and even though it’s an unfair win his honor won’t let him go back on his word and he makes good on his side of the bet, leaving him masks and shamed.

 

In this time, Tia is less of a bully and more a braggart. She hold matches at thee school all the time and never loses. Lupe has grown to become her rival through the years and Flaco and Pequeño never associate with her. 

Flaco and Pequeño both take wrestling very seriously now. They may not necessarily dislike Tia, but they’re more the types to go by the books and so her showboating doesn’t sit well with them.

When El terrible broadcasts this challenge, most are unbothered but he offers Tia’s father’s mask as a prize alongside the title. Tia is enraged for obvious reasons, the brothers can’t stand to have terrible delegitimize the sport and Lupe wants the title as well as not wanting to be made to seem like a fool by Terrible’s antics.

They all join forces through this common goals and immediately go to face el terrible. They’re defeated easily and are sent back home, prides wounded. It’s here that the mother chooses to train them and they lie about their bonds. 

I wasn't sure how to word this in the above package, but Lupe and Tia's relationship is one of one-upping the other up until they need to depend on the other. Then they can have that convo of "I respect your strength/ I was afraid you'd over take me" and then we continue the story as it is.

As a preface, Im sorry I wasnt able to show up for last class, but the general notes and the pictures I could make NO sense of, but I worked on one more version of the story. 

Tia’s father is a great wrestler, and she looks up to him. He’s been the reigning champ for as long as she can remember and he always boasts about how well he does alone and is too good to accept help. She emulates him where she can, such as picking fights at school. She wants to be just like her father and be the best the same way he is.

Being the champ, her father is challenged often and Tia watches her father taken down challenger after challenger over the years. A new challenger has a team alongside him. Tia’s father, being prideful, accepts the challenge, believing he’s good enough to take on a team. He’s done so before and he can do it again. This time though, he’s surprisingly defeated and this team and their leader, El terrible, take the title as champ. 

Tia’s father, and her entire family are disgraced as a result of the loss, and her father returns to their home, out in the country. He’s a lot less prideful as he was and is essentially a broken man. Tia, who is equally bullheaded as her father wants to reclaim her families honor, but she also wants to be the champ herself. She wants to take on this new champ and reclaim all that they’ve lost. 

Her father is beyond sure though, that she can’t do it. She’s learned wrestling from hi her entire life, and if terrible defeated him, he can beat her. Tia concedes this and, angrily, does not venture out to take on terrible and his team. By the end of this conversation, she was willing to let their families honor go, but a commercial comes on broadcasting terrible challenge. A tournament to take his place, he’s so proud of his team (and mostly himself) that he’ll take all comers. It’s a team competition and by that fact alone Tia is barred.

This infuriates her and she decides that she in fact cannot let this loss stand, and she MUST compete. She pulls together a team of fellow wrestlers. She doesn’t hold them in the highest regard, but there aren’t many wrestlers near her home. Only fans. The team she pulls together consists of a nerdy kid, Flaco, His brother, and a girl that she used to beat up as kids, Lupe. (the girl from the storyboards.) Flaco and pequeño have both been fans of Tia from day one, and learned wrestling because of that. (flaco is the autograph kid)

Her father actually sees this team as an opportunity for tia, as while he was defeated, he was alone. Maybe team along side a skilled team can take the title. He and Tia puts the team through a crash course to advance their skills. There is a butting of heads (mostly a result of Tia’s bullying past) but they do learn each others strengths and weaknesses and reluctantly, learn how to cover for each other. Even if they don’t quite like each other.. 

They travel into town and enter the competition and, through their combined skills they’re able to start to grow a relationship but Tia and Lupe still have many problems with each other despite being the teams best wrestlers. The first match they breeze through, as they can all compete. Theres a day  between each match and they all go out to eat, all bragging about their win and give reluctant compliments. Flack and pequeño are more enthusiastic than the girls in their praises. Tia notices that Lupe used many moves that tia used to use on her and feels a twinge of guilt but its dashed. She basically gave Lupe her win.

The second match is difficult, as it’s a tag team match and flaco and his brother team up immediately. This leaves tia and lupe to work together and it’s in this match that they really bond, because they have to seriously depend on each other. In the break between the second and third matches Flaco and P go out for food again but Tia and Lupe stay back to nurse their wounds. Lupe tries to extend an olive branch and thanks Tia for  something specific during their fight and Tia gives her pointers, now that she knows that she’s using mostly her own moves.

The third match they’re able to breeze through now that they get along. This fight is almost like a game to tea’s team. They’ve got all their kinks worked out and they’re able to not only support each other but bolsters each others skills.

Now it’s Tia's team vs el terrible’s team. In this match it’s clear that terrible ’s team is made of all very skilled wrestlers, but they don’t cooperate well. They continuously fight and they’re not organized, and so at times they disrupt each other or generally mess up the teams flow. They won the title through brute force alone, but now facing off against another team of skilled wrestlers and they’re challenged.

There’s multiple attempts by Terrible’s team to divide and conquer Tia’s team but they’ve all learned each other’s strengths and weaknesses and as a result they’re able to lock these attempts. The fight is hard but eventually the scales are tipped in tia’s favor however because her team functions as a unit and together, they’re able to separate as a strategy and hold off attention from Tia and Lupe so they can perform an ultimate move. A dive bomb so powerful that it destroys the stage and wins them the match, and the title.

Story

So this is what is got from last class, please feel free to add or cut or edit what you think works.

ACT I

Tia’s father rules over Wrestle City as the current champ. The city is clean and full of life, an almost utopia, but the shadow of evil is there in the form of El Terrible the Terrible and rising new star, who has risen to the number two stop and has challenged Tia’s father to a championship match. Forced by the law and honor he must accept the challenge. Fearing what might happen during and after the match, he asks Tia’s grandfather to take Tia out of the city before the match and to not return if he loses, for the city would be too dangerous for her. Tia’s father is defeated by El Terrible in a dirty match putting him in a full body cast, and is now the new champ. Tia’s grandfather takes Tia out of the city and raises her on the farm.

ACT II

                Tia grows up to be a bully, using her natural strength and fighting skills (that all great masked wrestlers have) to beat up the kids of the farmlands. She thinks she is respected and liked for her because of her strength and fighting abilities.  One day while bullying some kid, Flaco, he tells her that she’s not so great just because she can fight and that other qualities matter too. She tries to hurt him but it stopped by an old man with amazing wrestling abilities. Shocked by her defeat she runs home upset. Her grandfather sees her upset and tells her about her father and El Terrible, Tia gets more upset and wants to go fight EL Terrible, but her grandfather says she’s not ready and it’s not safe. Tia finds the old man who pinned her and asks him to train her, he tells her that she’s no good and that he’d just be making another El Terrible. Tia explains who she is and who her Father is and why she needs to beat El Terrible. Old man finally agrees and trains her, and tells her how she can defeat him at his birthday beat down.

ACT III

Now trained and ready Tia heads to the city. Once in the city she finds that the once beautiful place is now dark and dismal, the streets overrun by masked wrestling gangs because of El Terrible’s rule. She finds her parents and tells them what she came to do, her father says it’s too dangerous and that she should go back to the farm. Tia says she’s come too far, and if he’s too afraid then she was right all these years to think he abandoned her. Tia leaves to go to the flying arena where she enters the tournament. Tia’s Father shows up and says he’s going to help. The two battle their way up the arena to defeat El Terrible together.

sorry I've been sick this weekend and haven't posted anything. The work for the story that everyone posted has been really helpful, I'm going to take that and work that  into the original story fixing the problems and plot holes that came up in class. I feel that we had better direction with that one and it with the new changes that we came up with it will work. I'll try to have something posted by tonight or tomorrow, but i do have work form 1-8 today.

Synopsis

JUST SAW DIEGO'S STORYBOARD AND THOUGHT IT WAS AMAZING..I wanted to edit this post after seeing it but thought maybe it could help in furthering what we need to focus on somehow..

Maybe this takes place on a rather smaller scale that relates to Diego's storyboard ideas..A small town where a couple of goons (terrible and nitro girls) are just being ridiculous, riding motorcycles and imagine theyre are making some huge difference? eventually it all winds up at school?

So, while talking with everyone the other day and bouncing ideas around about this story we've decided to tell, Paul brought up an interesting point that had got me thinking. He was focused on how an ordinary girl in this world we've created is able to fight extraordinary wrestlers. I'll admit it doesn't make much sense to me either. I think I've come up with a solution though that may be able to fill some of the other plot holes as well and allow us to focus on the story a little more.

Solution:
Make story similar to Dragonball? X-men?
How? Certain people in our world are either already gifted or have chance of becoming more like the mutants of x-men. If we do in fact consider this being one of problems we have with our ideas..this will be able fix a few other things as well.

In this imaginary world we've created, although very similar to our real world, feelings of intense love and hate (power of love Tillman said to include) could somehow evolve DNA cell structure of regular humans. Mutations are uncommon but do happen from time to time. To help you understand a little better, imagine for a second that if here in the real world all the immensely terrible or wonderful things happen as a result of these mutations and the mutations being a direct result of the type of loves, hates or interests a person has.. think MLK (his love of activism gifted him with unordinary speaking ability), Hitler (his hate for a great amount of the population granted him ability to influence them), Einstein (his love for science and the unknown gifted with unusual brain activity), Jackie Chan (love for martial arts gave him unfathomable abilities.)

To demonstrate how this fixes things I've quickly written a synopsis that may help in allowing us to focus our attention creating plot points for our "warrior's journey" and move along with our story. Here goes.

Synopsis:

Once upon a time, the world was a very dark and scary place. Seemingly created without purpose, society walked among animals, hunting, gathering and survivng. Unbeknown to us at the time there were random sparks of light in the darkness though that granted great and fearsome abilities to each and every one of its recipients. Society on one hand fought and eventually grew wise with knowledge we gained from our experiences. This gave us the ability to outwit our competitors who were given sharp teeth and long claws. Others were able to breathe under water. The light that granted these abilities brought with it balance to our ecosystem. We eventually began to find strength in numbers as we formed groups that grew into capitals. Through our interactions grew a wondorous Golden Age. A time of growth, prosperity and mutual aid. Greatness walked with us in the streets, each and every man/woman granted abilities contributing to preservation.

Wrestling in these times evolved as a means of debate and elaborate storytelling. It was graciously acted out by it's loving participants, sacrificing, warriors in their own right aimed at to promoting societies values through its use of epic symbolism. Wrestling grew famous and became the center piece of culture and with it the cities thrived. Over time society flourished and cities grew into epicenters made of steel, electronics and glass. Each and every person had their place.

In great light though darkness still lurked in the murky shadows of its own depths, stewing, waiting.

One man, in and out his sacrifice, grew resentful, confining himself a metaphorical cage, another spark. He became dissatisfied putting his body on the line for spectacle and began feeling entitled to more than what he was getting for his efforts. Not realizing the error of his ways, madness and conceit grew within him like a wildfire. His ideas began to seethe outwards, spreading to others close to him, souring and corrupting the natural order of things. El terrible the terrible was his name and pain was his game. From the shadows he recruited among the ranks of lower tier up and coming wrestlers, gaining a stranglehold on wrestling's underbelly. The elite four was eventually formed of a group of so-so wrestlers with extravagant personalities that were loyal to his cause. They took on the wrestling world by storm..gaining a bit of notoriety due to their unflinching vanity and futuristic looks. One night after a nailbiting win, El Terrible and his crew, drunk with power sought a way to gain more power and influence with Terrible's rotten plan for the populace. It was decided in a clandestine corner of town away from the prying eyes of society that the band of misfits would become the new faces of wrestling and monetize the industry. Soon they would start charging premium prices for merchandise and selling tickets at outrageous costs just to witness the spectacle that was wrestling with wrestling's foudation fueling Terrible's egotastic sadistic system.

El Terrible first had to launch his campaign going against the script. He began by ignoring public concern and effectively ripping through wrestling bracket, amassing a record number of wins unprecedented at the time and seating himself in the number two position behind the then champion. The public was outraged but wrestling was the law and in fairness he was reluctantly slotted to face the champion. El Terrible was hungry. This in turn lead to an event only known as The Original Sin. During El terrible's championship contention, a grueling match, the pendulum of momentum swung back and eventually favoring El Terrible's opponent. In an act of desparation one of El Terrible's crew members distracted the ref by jumping up to the platform and yelling and screaming. El Terrible took the fleeting oppurtunity with reckless abandon and landed a low blow on his opponent sending his opponent into near catatonic shock. The referee returns his attention to the match at which point El Terrible unflinchingly performs his finisher, the gutwrench suplex and TKOs his opponent to win the match and become the new world champion. The crowd was in shock. At that point he announces that the crowd should not be worried and there will be changes in the way things work but does not elaborate further. He announces his elite four, the Nitro Girls as the leagues commissioners and also invites everybody to his after party that takes place at Club Suplex where they will serve free punch and cookies. Behind the scenes he buys the deed to the club which he eventually plans on turning into a giant party palace. These events set in to motion what is known as the reform and leads to the events at the beginning of our story.

As part of the reform takes place, other entrepreneurs, in hopes of getting rich follow suit to privatize themselves. Terrible's cronies then start extortion rackets and distributing money vouchers through the city. People scramble to get in where they fit in. In a show of good faith Terrible hosts a Potluck for the town and where he also coaxes local business owners and bribes them with money and power as long as they follow the rules. The gears beginning turning and new order of things begin. Terrible also begins paying gangs that are popping up around the city to quiet rioters that are outraged at hearing of these events. The public is largely unaware of what is happening, confused by the vouchers but continue business as usual. Terrible begins gaining more support in elitist circles and in the spirit of competition goes on a series of less than admirable victories defending his Championship against rebels . Without anyone to stop him, El terrible and the elite four have amass a good amount of fame and fortune through this power move. The public being impressionable wrestling fans follow suit. Capitalism ravages a once democratic society and with business booming Terrible has started construction on his nightclub to build a giant golden wrestling pyramid, the likes of which no one has ever seen, that will hover over the middle of the city for the world to see and bask in it's glory. The Suplex Center will be known as the new mecca for wrestling and its grand opening is a year away on terrible's birthday, an event simply known as BIRTHDAY BASH. Due to El Terrible's business model only winners play and only players win.With that being said, will a champion arise from the ashes and awaken in the midst of such a destructive force. Can a light shine on through the darkness and will there be hope for a brighter future? The future of the city lies in the balance.

I think with this synopsis we can keep a lot of the story Paul and us have created and work on figuring out all the exact plot points as far as the warriors quest goes.

This story is about a little girl's quest of finding the patience, humility, strength, wisdom and loyalty to eventually represent herself and a city and take down a king

We start our story with an epic battle between El Terrible’ and Tia’s father, a young Tina, maybe 4-5, watches her grandfather in the sky box at the arena. Tia’s father appears to be winning the match, until El Terrible’ reviles that he is going to kidnap Tia. Tia’s father gives a warning and then looks up at the skybox to see it being swarmed by El Terrible’s goons, while his back is turned El Terrible lands a devastating blow and defeats him. What Tia’s father doesn’t know is that the grandfather was able to fight his way free and escape with Tia. During the escape Tia tries to help her grandfather but bumps her head and gets knocked out. The grandfather takes Tia out of the city to be raised on a farm house.

Tia grows up on the farm outside the city with her grandparents, with no memory of the night of her father’s defeat. To keep her safe form the city, now controlled by El Terrible’ and her father’s fate, Tia’s Grandparents never tell her about that night. Everyday Tia works on the farm growing strong. Her Grandfather recognizes her natural ability to fight, and trains her how to fight like he did with her father. Tia grows up to be fast, strong and able to fight.

 One day Tia goes to the market to buy feed, at the market she sees a flyer for El Terrible Big Birthday Beat-Down, and has flash backs of her father battling El Terrible when she reads El Terrible’s name. She runs home to ask her grandfather. He tells her about her father and how he asked for her to be raised away from the city so she would be safe, because if El Terrible’ had him he would not need to go after her. The grandfather shows Tia pictures and her father’s old mask and even his own old mask, and explains how her father fought for honor and was noble warrior of the people, he inspired people to want to be good to one another. How El Terrible’ was a greedy power hungry tyrant, who used his fame to corrupt the city. He tells her how he was once a great masked wrestler but gave it up for her grandmother. He tells her that she’s old enough to choose her own life now.

That night Tia backs her bag, with her father’s and grandfather’s mask and heads for the city. She takes a bus and falls asleep on the bus ride were she has dream of what it would be like to have her father and in her life. When she wakes the bus is stopped and people are getting off. She looks around and sees her bag is missing. She franticly looks around to see a small boy off the bus with it heading towards the exit of the bus station. She pushes her way off the through the crowd and runs after the boy. Once outside the station she is almost overwhelmed by the city, people, lights, buildings noise, it is all almost too much. She remembers the boy and begins to look around, she lost him to the crowd.

She begins to wonder the city not knowing where she is or where she is going and comes across a skinny man being mugged by 3 masked wrestler thugs. She tells them to leave him alone, which switched their attention to her. She fights them off with ease and they runway. She then asks the man if he’s alright. The man introduces himself as Flaco and thanks her for saving him, and asks her why she helped him. She says simply because he looked like he needed help. Puzzled but pleased he asks her what she’s doing in the city because he can tell she’s not from the city based off of her dress and willingness to help a complete stranger. He offers to buy her a meal for saving him. She declines at first saying she really must be going but then her stomach growls and she remembers all her food and money was in her bag which was stolen.

                Tia accompanies Flaco to a nearby restaurant/ bar (only type of restaurants in city), there Tia learns that Flaco is not a fighter but a builder and fixer and that doesn’t mean much to anybody else in the city. Tia thinks that that is an admirable quality. During the meal Tia recognizes the boy who stole her bag in the bar. The boy gives the bag to a big masked wrestler at the other end of the bar, she get up to go reclaim it. Flaco tries to stop her but Tia ignores him. She approaches the man and tells him that that’s her bag and she wants it back. The man just laughs and continues to drink. Tia reaches for the bag and the man grabs her arm, Tia just smiles and grabs his arm and flips him across the bar into the wall. Tia picks up her bag and walks back to the table. Flaco explains that that is a member of a local wrestle gang and he won’t be happy about that. Tia says she can handle herself. The Masked wrestlers return while Flaco is talking and try to fight Tia, she beats them but a bar fight ensues. Flaco and Tia go out the back of the bar, were they meet Tiny, the boy who stole Tia’s bag, he explains who he is and why he stole it. They all then procced to Flaco’s house.

There Flaco has posters of Tia’s Father before his defeat. She asks him about them, and he explains that the he was the greatest, but after El Terrible took the tittle, he used his new power and fame to promote crime and despair, and that’s why those so many masked wrestling gangs. Now he holds the Birthday Beat down to see if anyone can take him on. Tia explains who she is and how she has to see her father. Flaco says that the tournament is tomorrow and they should go then. He tells Tia that she’ll need a mask if she wants to enter, so she shows him the masks in her bag. Flaco tells Tia how the tournament works, how first it’s a royal rumble and the last two standing go on the next match were they compete as a tag team, they then move on to the next level where they will face last year’s finalists (nobody has ever made it to El Terrible Himself), after that they will have to face El Terrible’s elite goons, then if they make it past them they fight El Terrible. Each district of the city sends 2 wrestlers to represent their district, and that Tia just took out this districts representatives in the bar fight so she can take their place, but she’ll need a partner. Tia says that her father will join her wants he knows she’s there.

The next day they go to the arena, there Tia sees her father being knocked around in the first ring, as a preshow warm up, he doesn’t even fight back. Enraged Tia rushes the ring and starts fighting off the other wrestlers. Tia’s father has no idea what’s happening but he starts to recognize the fighting style and the mask she is wearing as his old mask. He begins to fight back with her. Once everyone in the ring is defeated he grabs Tia and hugs her, asks what and how she got here. He tells her that it’s too dangerous that she shouldn’t be here. She says she’s here to save/avenge him and that together they can defeat El Terrible. She then gives him the grandfather’s mask. He puts it on and the two enter the next level of the arena. The two battle their way to El Terrible’ and defeat him. The crowd goes wild and Tia is now the champ.

A fierce battle happens in the ring. The two masked wrestlers, Tia’s Father and El Terrible’, exchange devastating blows. A young Tia, maybe 4 or 5, excitedly watches her father deliver explosive hits to El Terrible’, from a small TV in a run-down shack, in the slums of town. Her mother paces back and forth, nervously clenching at the dish towel in her hands, only able to look at the TV for brief moments before cringing away. Tia punches along with her father cheering him on, as it appears his winning the match.

                Back in the ring, Tia’s Father taunts El Terrible’; “No more dirty tricks? I didn’t think you would play this one fairly.” El Terrible’ just smiles and then rushes at Tia’s father, grabbing him by the shoulders. Once in the grapple El Terrible’ leans in and says that Tia’s father has a beautiful family, and he’s surprised that he would leave them so unprotected. Tia’s father breaks the grapple and tosses El Terrible’ into the turn buckle, and runs to the edge of the ring and begins to yell into the camera, “Get out of the house, get Tia and get out of the house!”

                 Back at Tia’s house Tia’s mother runs over and picks up Tia and begins to run to the door, from the window she can see a car pull up and masked wrestlers get out and run towards the house. Tia’s mother stops and looks around the house, she sees the book case and runs to it. She puts Tia down and pushes the book case aside revealing a hole in the wall.  Tia’s mother can hear the wrestlers banging on the door, trying to break it in. She tells Tia to stay hidden and not come out no matter what. Tia’s mother pushes the book case back as the door breaks open. 3 masked wrestlers stand in the door way, “Get her!” one yells. Tia watches the shadows of the masked wrestlers and her mother struggle, and then the masked wrestlers pick up Tia’s mother and leave. Through the cracks behind the book case Tia watches her father on the TV being beaten around the ring.

the Story so far

Back in the ring Tia’s father takes devastating blows from El Terrible, as he refuses to fight back, trying to plead with him to leave his family alone. El Terrible’ gives him the option of giving up and removing his mask and he won’t harm the family. Tia’s Father agrees and removes his mask in the ring, conceding the fight and taking the dishonor. While El Terrible’ gloats around the ring, Tia’s Father slips out and runs home. Once he gets back to his house he finds it in shambles, he thinks all is lost when he hears Tia from behind the book case. He takes Tia to his Parent’s farm house and asked them to look after her and keep her safe, as he’s going back to try and save Tia’s mother. He never returns.

Tia grows up on the farm outside the city with her grandparents. Everyday Tia works on the farm growing strong. Her Grandfather recognizes her natural ability to fight and trains her how to fight like he did with her father. Tia grows up to fast, strong and able to fight. Every night she can see the lights of the city from far away and wonders if her father is still there and why he never returned with her mother. One day while working on the farm with her grandfather, she asks why her father abandoned her. Tia’s Grandfather says that’s not what happened, and she should never think like that. Because Tia thinks that’s what happened, her grandfather decides to tell her what happened to her father and mother, and who El Terrible’ is, and what he did to her family. He shows Tia posters and pictures of her father as a great masked wrestler and even shows her, her father’s first mask. Because of this Tia wants to go to the city and find out what happened to her farther. Her grandfather says that the city has changed and that it wasn’t the place it used to be, after El Terrible defeated her father that night, his fame grew, and that he ultimately runs the whole city now, making it a dark place filled with crime and bad people, and he forbids her to go to the city.

That night Tia backs her bag, with her father’s mask and heads for the city. She takes a bus and falls asleep on the bus ride were she has dream of what it would be like to have her father and mother in her life. When she wakes the bus is stopped and people are getting off. She looks around and sees her bag is missing. She franticly looks around to see a small boy off the bus with it heading towards the exit of the bus station. She pushes her way off the bus and runs after the boy. Once outside the station she is almost overwhelmed by the city, people, lights, buildings noise, it is all almost too much. She remembers the boy and begins to look around, she lost him to the crowd.

She begins to wonder the city not knowing where she is or where she is going and comes across a skinny man being mugged by 3 masked wrestler thugs. She tells them to leave him alone, which switched their attention to her. She fights them off with ease and they runway. She then asks the man if he’s alright. The man introduces himself as Skinny and thanks her for saving him, and asks her why she helped him. She says simply because he looked like he needed help. Puzzled but pleased he asks her what she’s doing in the city because he can tell she’s not from the city based off of her dress and willingness to help a complete stranger. He offers to buy her a meal for saving him. She declines at first saying she really must be going but then her stomach growls and she remembers all her food and money was in her bag which was stolen.

                Tia accompanies Skinny to a nearby restaurant/ bar (only type of restaurants in city), there Tia learns that Skinny is not a fighter but a builder and fixer and that doesn’t mean much to anybody else in the city. Tia thinks that that is an admirable quality. During the meal Tia recognizes the boy who stole her bag in the bar. The boy gives the bag to a big masked wrestler at the other end of the bar, she get up to go reclaim it. Skinny tries to stop her but Tia ignores him. She approaches the man and tells him that that’s her bag and she wants it back. The man just laughs and continues to drink. Tia reaches for the bag and the man grabs her arm, Tia just smiles and grabs his arm and flips him across the bar into the wall. Tia picks up her bag and walks back to the table. Skinny explains that that is a member of a local wrestle gang and he won’t be happy about that. Tia says she can handle herself.

Just gonna lay this out~

It's a lot more condensed than the original story, but it can be considerably shorter and I think there's no holes. If there are any I think they can be filled more easily. But then on top of it being shorter we can actually focus on characters instead of a million setpieces or too much backstory.

El terriblê is the worlds greatest wrester, and every year, he holds a competition for someone to have the opportunity to take him on and take this title. Up until the previous year, he’s focused mainly in just WWE type wrestling, but recently he’s moved into Luchador territory, so the setup of WWE type fights, rigging, chairs, etc. isn’t too well known by this new audience.

Tia’s father is a great luchador, and they both feel he’s a better wrestler, so he enters the competition. Surprisingly, he’s beaten and in the fanfare of the event his mask is taken. He’s been completely dishonored.

A year later Tia is ready to take on the competition herself and regain her fathers honor and his mask, as well as take the new title for herself. On her first round she’s faced off against another girl who is fundamentally not as good a wrestler as she is, and despite this she’s defeated. Her mask is not taken though. Her fathers was taken as a symbol more than anything else. A combo of Terriblé showing all the other Luchadors he’s better than them as well as just being an enormous douche.

Tia’s spirit is not defeated though, and even though she’s lost as a single wrestler she can try again if she entered with others as a team. The competition is larger than just singles, and teams do compete, though they largely have to fight together in tag team type deals until they are eventually split up.

She gathers four other girls and one of them is well versed in this new wrestling style and lets Tia know all about it. Before they enter, Tia and this new friend approach the announcers and broadcasters of the competition and confirm their suspicion about the underhandedness of El Terriblé.

Not only do they confirm it, but they air their own grievances with him. They’re accustomed to spectating and commenting on luchador matches, not this dishonorable mess that Terriblé has brought with him. However, working on “The World’s Greatest Wrestler’s” event has too large an impact on their own reputation and pay. Not only that, but apparently this is accepted where Terriblé comes from, so there’s nothing that they alone can do. However, they say that they’ll make sure Tia’s matches are shown without editing or false calls and if she's able to get far enough to face and defeat terrible, they’ll help her unmask him. 

The fights continue and Tia is shown defeating Terriblé’s goons and rising to the top until she finally faces Terrible himself. His ring is in an elevated place without direct spectators, and he assumes the announcers and broadcasters are still in his pocket so he speaks rely about how she won’t defeat him and it’s impossible for anyone to do so. She does just this however, and terrible is exposed to everyone watching. The title is hers. 

Tia’s now the world’s greatest wrestler and she reclaims her fathers mask and families honor. This story concludes and an epilogue is shown of the next years competition and honorable fighters.

Story

Evil Luchador king goes to various lands defeating its leaders in a wrestle mania like event. He is now in the country of our heroin, who must defend her country against the evil lucha king.

Alternate

Evil Luchador King has already taken over the world, but doesn’t care about ruling responsibilities. The world has fallen into a slum outside of his golden palace. Every year he holds a week long competition in honor of his birthday. it’s an open challenge for anyone to defeat him and take his throne. No one has ever succeed. Until now.

Then she's special without being "special" but we have a better chance of filling the 90 minutes.)
